Starting at about 1:45 does it not look like like Joey sprouted a little 3rd arm and is beatin on Tommys floor tom 🤔 But anyways, thank god these guys were able to keep the band stitched together for so long. Because of all the inner band issues they could have just as easily hung it up. It's a miracle DD, Johnny, and Joey didnt all kill one another.

There were bands around before them like MC5 and The Stooges, but I honest to God believe that without The Ramones, punk rock, or even Rock in general wouldn’t be the same. A solid argument can be made for The Ramones being the most influential band ever

I gave the Ramones a VHS tape I had of this show in Manchester 1989 on their UK tour. Joey and Johnny hadn't seen this recording for many years and had no personal copies. They eventually tracked down a much better version.

For a little perspective, I recommend watching the clip of the September ‘74 CBGB gig first, and then watch this, which was filmed in January ‘75 (according to the official Ramones documentary - “End Of The Century”). They really came a long way in just a few months.

People who criticize the Ramones forget their educational value. They taught a whole generation of young kids to how to count to four.

Contrary to popular belief, this video was not shot in Arturo's loft, and it also was not from 1975. It was shot in early 1976 at M.P.C.S. TV Studios, clearly seen in a long shot taken by Danny Fields which is in his photo book "My Ramones." Definitely historic footage though of one of the greatest bands of all time. 🎸

In 1956 I was walking down Fleet St. in Forest Hills, Queens and I heard a toddler singing the ABC song. So I crept up to the open window and was instantly drawn to the kid. He was wearing a leather diaper, which I thought was weird, not because it was leather, but because the kid looked a little too old to be in a diaper. I chuckled to myself and the kid looked up at me with the most miserable look on his face and exclaimed, "I want to be sedated!" I didn't know it then but I had witnessed greatness. As I walked away I heard an older female's voice mumble something to the kid to which he replied, "I don't wanna grow up!"
